WORK STARTS ON NEW HOMES IN WOODLEY

Cube Homes has started work on the £5 million development of seven new luxury homes in Woodley, Stockport.

Located on the tree-lined Werneth Road, Lime Grove will offer large four and five bedroom bespoke detached homes built on a vacant site once occupied by the Further Hey care home.

Named after the deciduous trees which grow in the area, each of the homes will be built to blend in with their surroundings with carefully landscaped front gardens.

The bespoke properties, typical of the Cube Homes’ signature, are designed with brick facades, crafted stonework and open plan family living with bi-fold doors to the gardens.

The first buyers are expected to move into their new properties in the Summer of 2024.

Christopher Heath, Managing Director of Cube Homes, said: “It’s fantastic to be given the go-ahead to build these homes, which although new, will reflect the architecture of the traditional properties in the area. The site will see the transformation of the old care home into a vibrant community of new family homes in one of the most sought-after addresses in Woodley.

“Our first priority will be to preserve and manage the mature trees on the site and enhance the visual amenity of the area, creating a tranquil, green place for people to live. Along with existing trees we will be adding ornamental and fruit trees, wildflowers and hedges and creating a haven for wildlife. We even have timber fences with gaps for hedgehogs! ”

Lime Grove is less than a mile from the centre of Woodley, which has a selection of amenities, shops and places to eat. Woodley Railway Station is a ten-minute walk away with regular services to Manchester Piccadilly and Rose Hill Marple.

Close by is Stockport Sports Village, which is the biggest football facility in the North West with 16 next generation pitches and fitness studios. The suburb is also home to Woodley Cricket Club and Woodley Albion Junior Football Club.  A short distance away is Werneth Low Country Park which extends over 200 acres and is a haven for wildlife.
